I’m incredibly excited to share a project I started working on amidst the 2020 madness and lockdowns — my very own Australian slow fashion label To Her.

To Her is a love letter to the modern woman — intelligent, busy, effortlessly stylish and sexy. This is ink on paper to timeless classics and thoughtful processes, at a time where it’s hard to find either of them.

How it all started

While dressing in, researching and blogging about ethical and sustainable trends in fashion, I encountered time and time again just how difficult it is to find high quality yet timeless, sustainably made pieces at an affordable price point.

Of course, if I were to do it, I wanted to do it right — I wanted to create seasonless garments as ethically and sustainable, as possible. And then I remembered how clothes were made during my childhood in Russia, just after there collapse of the Soviet Union and before the influx of cheap Chinese goods — my mother and my grandmother used to sew clothes for our family; if someone didn't have the ability to sew they would approach a local seamstress and get a unique high-quality garment tailored to their body shape. It was wonderful to find out that the industry still exists and wheels inside my head started turning.

How are To Her garments are made

I have spent the better part of the last six months building wonderful working relationships with the seamstresses who make our garments, sourcing high quality fabrics (which is dramatically difficult during lockdown and while we are on able to travel internationally) and making sure that we were creating something that is worthwhile as well, as affordable.

When you order a To Her garment, one of our seamstresses with a lifetime of dress making experience located in my hometown of Voronezh, Russia creates it and earns a living in commission. All of our garments are made from high quality Italian fabrics that are pre washed to ensure that they don’t stretch or fade.

And the designs?

Well, don’t underestimate just how versatile our seasonless and timeless “basics”will be in your wardrobe — the opposite of being trend driven, we are a slow fashion label and our designs are seasonless and created to last.

With our first collection we wanted to build the foundations of a woman’s wardrobe — black and white suits, fabulous oversized yet perfectly fitted silhoettes, simple dresses — pieces that will take any woman from the office, to a night out, to a casual sunny Sunday afternoon.

You can check out our first collection as well, as learn more about the label here.

I would absolutely love a to know what you guys think about To Her, so please leave your comments in comments section just below.

Hope you're having a wonderful week!

Lots of love,

Lena
