Melbourne autumn fashion season is almost upon us, so here are the bags that I’m crushing on for AW 2021. This season I’m I loving the 90s and early 2000s inspired handbags as well, as some vintage bags from the era. I may have already purchased one of these, can you guess which one?

Gucci Jackie bag

We all know I love a good vintage designer handbag reissue, so no surprises here. The Gucci Jackie bag is distinctly cool looking yet highly versitile, so it ticks all of my boxes. I also love this little beauty comes in all kinds of fun colours.

You can get the 2020 re-release directly from the Gucci website here, but if the price tag of a new Gucci bag is a little steep for you, there are also some fabulous vintage Gucci Jackie bags for sale on place like eBay and Vestiaire Collective; you can get yourself this little beauty for around $200 to $500.

Staud Tommy Bag

I absolutely loved the Moon bag, but this may just be my new favourite from Staud. This is the perfect overstated yet versatile bag. It is incredibly original and fun; it would work perfectly with a classic tailored suit or an outfit full of texture and colour. If you are looking for a chic bag under $350 I really couldn’t recommend this one enough.

Jil Sander Tangle Bag

I’ve been obsessing over this little beauty for a while now — just like anything that Jil Sandler has done recently, it is the understated perfect. While the price tag is a little steep, this bag is anything but a trend bag, so it will not date; it will most certainly elevate any outfit to a whole new level.

Tom Ford era Gucci Bags

When it comes to bags, Gucci is definitely having a moment right now. In addition the newly reissued Jackie bag, it is definitely worthwhile diving into the sea of vintage late 90’s bags that you can get form $200-$600 at the moment on places like eBay and Vestiaire Collective.

Here are a few of my personal favorites from sellers with great reviews*

Option 1 the perfect understated vintage bag here

Option 2 the cutest little rectangular bag here

Option 3 with a classic Tom Ford bamboo handle here

*as these bags are pre loved it is essential that you read the description carefully and do your own due dilligence about the bag and the seller before you purchase

By Far Amber Bag

I am generally obsessed with By Far bags, but the Amber Macha bag stood out to me - I can just see this one working so perfectly as a pop of colour with a more neutral classic wardrobe or a really colourful one.

Oroton Croissant Bag

Oroton is another brand that is definitely having a moment when it comes to bags. The large Malin Croissant bag is by far my favourite— it is the perfect oversized tote bag we all need in our lives.

It is available here

However, if you are looking for a original vintage croissant bag at a slightly lower pricepoint, I have recently come across this Saint Laurent bag on eBay and it is just gorgeous.

Vintage and vintage inspired handbags are the biggest trend of this season. Luckily, there are both brands releasing amazing updated designs and some excellent pre loved bags from the 90s and early 2000s that you can hunt down if you would like to be as sustainable as possible without compromising on style and buy pre-loved fashion instead.

Lots of love,
