With what feels like an early onset of autumn, it’s the time for grey skies and tonal dressing — it is one of the biggest trends of the season + a neutral outfit brings that little bit of brightness we all need.
Here are a few simple rules I follow when it comes to neutral dressing.
1. Choosing classic pieces
I’m talking perfectly tailored trousers, warm sweaters, a modern white sneakers; the kind of pieces that will keep the look understated, yet you will stand out of the crowd.

2. Investing in that one natural bag
Even if (if you are anything like me) the rest of your bag collection basically consists of black bags investing into a neutrally collared bag is a must. I’m loving the Chloe Tess bag as the golden hardware matches my gold jewellery perfectly.

3. Opting for an oversized silhouette
Oversized is both cosier and chicer. I’m loving the fact that skin tight pants and knits are behind us and we can just indulge in an oversized fit the season.

4. Playing with textures
I’m loving a thick knit, a borg jacket or a fluffy coat, even some faux leather can be that perfect understated way to elevate your outfit.

5. Adding an oversized trench coat
As well, as going perfectly with a neutral tonal outfit, a trench coat is also a necessity for when it starts raining which we all know happens a lot during Melbourne autumn.

What are you wearing this autumn?
Lots of love,
Lena
