Is it the perfect vintage Prada bag or the hunt for it that is more exciting? For me it is the combination of the two and this beauty scored high in both categories. Here is why I chose it and how I find my pre-loved designer pieces.

I was on the search for a minimal dark (I was thinking black) bag that would go well with my more casual outfits and everyday clothes. Now I am a small bag person and I prefer bag that only fits my phone, cardholder, keys and lipstick - so there is no room for me to fill it with junk!

How I settled on Prada

Vintage Prada bags (and new re-edition Prada bags) kept on popping up on my feed - these looked so cool with simple 90s jeans or even sweats. Originally I considered getting a similar bag at a lower price point, but after doing some research I chose to spend a little bit more knowing that I can resell a Prada bag in the future. Also worth mentioning that these bag made out of nylon will last a very long time; it is super durable and very easy to clean.

How I find my pre-loved designer bags

As I mentioned previously, the majority of vintage designer pieces I find are via EBAY, but I have also found pieces other pre loved fashion marketplaces like DEPOP or Vestiaire Collective.

When I am on the hunt for a new piece - whether it is a bag, a pair of shoes or a coat - I get lost in the research. I usually look at several websites to compare the prices, read reviews and look at seller ratings. I want to be in the position where I know what the market price for an item is before I commit to something. There is nothing wrong with asking a seller questions or requesting additional photos to know exactly what you are paying for. I am always on the careful side and go with my instinct. If something looks to good to be true, it probably is; if I'm not 100% sure about a piece I will not buy it.

The hunt

After looking through a lot of different pieces I settled on this chocolate coloured beauty on EBAY. It was on the lower end of the vintage Prada price range, but without any visible defects. I also like that it was chocolate brown coloured instead of my usual black. The seller was someone in Japan who I have purchased from before, so I knew I could trust them. There was a lot of photos in the listing, so I was confident in the condition of the bag.

Now that I've got the bag I just have so many idea on how I could style it. It is that perfect unique piece for me and I am very happy that I bought vintage.

Do you buy vintage pieces? If so, where do you usually find these?
