Autumn came early to Melbourne this year — its only late March and we’ve already had so many cooler days perfect to show off autumnal fashion.

In order to keep my wardrobe sustainable (both for the environment and my wallet), my autumnal looks were build around a few versatile pieces — the kind that fit perfectly and give me confidence on those mornings I have no clue what to wear. This season it’s a pair of perfectly fitted wide leg trousers in black and off-white, a boxy black blazer, Tony Bianco combat boots and my trusty pre-loved vintage Prada bag. Everything else are usually basic pieces already in my wardrobe (and an occasional fun trend piece), but investing into a few trusty high quality classics has truly been a life saver morning after morning.

Here is what I wore in March.

1.This Collusion faux leather coat + wide leg trouser

— the coat has all of the Nanushka vibes without the price tag available here — perfect for those rainy Melbourne days. I paired it with a Jil Sander tee, To Her trousers available here, Tony Bianco boots available here and the Prada Nylon bag (bought on Vestiaire Collective last year).

2. A slip dress and an oversized blazer

— always a killer look, slip dress is linked here and here is the blazer (plus some black heels from Tony Bianco available here). I wore this look to Melbourne Fashion Week and got a ton of compliments and plan on rewearing this look every time there is an occasion to dress up.

3. A black suit

— an unambiguously strong shoulder pad has been my go to when I need that little extra bit of confidence. This is another To Her creation I wore to Melbourne Fashion Festival that is available on pre sale here.

4. Off-white wide leg trousers

— to the office or to a drink with some friends — you can never go wrong with a perfectly fitted trouser (lighter colours are great when you still have a bit of the summer tan left). This is another one of my favourite To Her pieces linked here. I paired it with a basic tee on the days I wanted to keep things a little more casual.

5. Straight leg vegan leather trousers

—I’m really into vegan leather pieces at the moment and these Staud trousers have definitely been a worthwhile autumn/winter wardrobe investment and it’s only March. So easy to wear with pretty much anything and perfect for all of the rainy days we’ve had.

6. I already showed this look in a blog post about styling neutral basics here

— I’m reposting as it is a personal favourite — love a brighter colour scheme on those gloomy autumnal days and these To Her trousers are my go to for just that.

7. Of course, a denim look

— wide leg denim can be super chic and is my little secret to creating the illusion of endless legs. Here it’s paired with To Her blazer, Jil Sander tee and Tony Bianco heels linked above.

Bonus: Activewear

— I recently collaborated with Halara and was kindly gifted this amazing set you can check out here — this has been my daily go to for gym and yoga.

Which look is your favourite?

Lots of love,

Lena
